What is a Bloco?

As I have said many times in my latest post's Blocos are the biggest kind of parties during carnaval! Imagine it like this a huge typical movie scene college frat party, Costumes, loud music, dancing and a lot of flirting and drinking as well. Ok, now think about that just with a couple adjustments, out in the street, people from all around the country (and depending on where you are the world) costumes of all kinds, masks, drinks everywhere, different languages every turn you make, a fight here and there, a band performing on top of a car and a lot of joyful people. See it? Well then there you have it. Your typical brasilian Bloco de Rua.

But there not only for adults, there are all kind of blocos to go to, some are created only for kids, where there is face paint, clowns and special guest, some for the clubbers that want to hear anitta's latest single, something for the family basically there will always be something for everyone.

To some of you it might not seem appealing, but I must say it's exactly what carnaval is. The begging of it all came from this type of celebration. A lot of people joyful singing and dancing along the streets of the city.

I have gone to a few this year, not as many as I'd wish but I did make the most of my time off from work at Blocos. This being a year where I am 18 and knowing my way around the city ment to my mother I was ready enough to have the experience I have been waiting for ever since I moved to Rio. Since last year I had moved during carnaval I didn't manage to go anywhere other than Sapucai, to see the samba schools. But knowing myself and knowing the person that gave birth to me (my mom) I was not going to give up on a party like this.

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved halloween, as I have mentioned in another post before I love dressing up, I love the idea of wearing a costume and being free to be whoever, whatever I want. I thought a lot about what I would dress up for carnaval and to be honest I work too hard to get paid and end up spending my money on something that won't be useful for me in a years time. So I went with practical. A body suite radiant with color I mean after all this is probably the only time of the year to get that outfit your not to sure about out of the closet and take it for a test drive. As I was seeking to find something exotic I went into a biquini shop and looked around the swimsuit area and found this beautiful swimsuit in the hands of a woman that wasn't sure if she wanted to take it or not. The moment she left to take a phone call I grabbed it and went to the dressing room and immediately feel in love, not only did I picture the suite to be beautiful as I also feel in love with my reflection. I tried on a couple of other models and ended back to my lovely blue swimming suit, as you can see in the following pictures below I was feeling myself.

My other day going to the blocos was just a normal cropped shirt and my trusty tutu, that I bought in a store near my house. This time of year you can find nearly every kind of color and style in stores everywhere. For girls and boys the tutu works as a total glam up. With a tutu you've got everything. I think I've said enough about carnaval that will last for about the rest of the year! I hope you enjoyed my carnaval special as much as I did writing and researching. Thanks a million for reading and if you feel interested in coming to anyone of this event's then tweet me! I would love to know what part of carnaval you would like to be a part of! See ya next time, bye!
