Hello everyone, I am very pleased to say I am now 18 years old! I have entered adulthood or young adulthood I guess. Here in Brasil I am now legal to do whatever I want. Drive, drink alcohol, smoke, anything. Basicly I can now speak up and in whatever one said when I was 16 I am now "old enough" to know things, understand certain things. Having that said I wanted to get into something that's been appearing to much in my timeline. Girl Power.

I was talking to a friend a while back and we spoke about how so many movements have been having a bigger reach. The gender equality, LGBT, black consciousness and the right to education for women all over the world.

I suppose that we all know a little bit about our history with separating the woman from the men. I had a class a couple weeks back and we spoke about the gender equality when it comes to try to get a job, here in Brasil it's not that different from the U.S. men still receive nearly 25,6% more a year than women in the same position. And having seen so many news about how many girls and women have been sexualy assalted, are not educated, have human rights violated and it needs to end.

Last month I went to a museum to see a exposition about Tropicalismo, here in Brasil for portuguese class and there was a part of the exposition that spoke about the violence towards women and I could not have felt less comfortable. There weren't any pictures, no paintings and no kind of an image, other than many square boards with facts of what is seen here and around the world.

Many celebrities have been defending the rights for girls around the world. Our former first lady, Michelle Obama has a project that is for the right of young women around the world a chance for education, Lily Sign started her own project to help get clean water to woman in Africa, so that the woman don't have to go back and forth and be able to go to school and maybe even college. Fifth Harmony surround themselves that we as women have the right to dress ourselves the way we want, we can feel go in a mini dress or a long dress. Hailee Steinfeld, wrote a song about how we are all different and we can be whatever we want. We are strong enough anyway. P!nk to me is one of the biggest girl power, she has always been about girl power. One of her recent girl power moments, love yourself moments was her acceptance speech at the 2017 VMA's for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard.

I as a young woman am not fine with what I know happening around the world, I don't have a solution, but I can start to change things around my social group. I can start by smiling and telling people nice things and if I hear something unfair and that is not right I can go and try to help. And that's what we should all be doing. We should all take a chance to change our ways and understand what is going around the world. And by that, the last tuesday, October the 10th, was International Day of the Girl and they released this video.

Thank's for reading!
